What better way to finally start my blogging life than to introduce you to our new look! When we moved in over 6 years ago our house displayed light gray siding, dark gray trim, and purple accents. Okay, not the most descriptive color names but that's now in the past and we have a new look and new colors!
Back in the early Spring we had a board replaced under our front window and we had the decision to make...what do we really think of the purple accents?! Thanks to my awesome mother and father-in-law we have beautiful hostas across the front in the Summer months so that bought us some time to decide...thanks hostas for hiding the bare wood!
After "researching" on pinterest I became obsessed with YELLOW FRONT DOORS! I LOVE YELLOW and knew I would love the warm, inviting look on the outside too. We took advantage of the 65 degree Novemeber day and after two trips to Lowes started painting. So, good bye purple and hello yellow! What better friend to yellow now a days then GRAY?!?! My friendly neighborhood Lowe's paint counter employees were challenged by my 6 year old can of gray paint so after heading back I found a close match and am thrilled how well the window and "column" match. Our chintzy pole may be replaced eventually but I now have a current color to go by!:)
The fact that I am loving my colorful wreath (perhaps another blog post?!?) I am ecstatic over how it turned out!
What do you think of the yellow and gray?
Love, Andrea

Love it! I love adding meaningful touches to our home. And yayyyyyyyy for a blog!!! :-) Looking forward to your posts.
ReplyDeleteGood one sister! Can't wait to come over sometime and see it in person! Love the new blog... can't wait to see and read about your creativity and your late night endeavors! :)
ReplyDeleteI rather like the yellow and grey and I think all season's decorations will look wonderful against those colors. My daughter is Lorna Johnson, and she sent me to check out your blog. So far, so good. I love crafts when you have what's needed at hand already and don't have to go on a hunt to find them. These cute turkeys are adorable, easy to make and would keep any child occupied and thrilled with their results. Keep up the great work, Andrea. And your son is a doll!!
